Samut Prakan City goalkeeper "Mike" Patiwat Khammai expresses much gratitude for his first opportunity to officially serve on the Thai national team saying that "I must begin by thanking the coaching staff for having confidence in me. I was overcome with excitement when learning that this would be my chance! I tried to collect my thoughts and focus on performing my best on the field of competition as possible.
I felt really nervous prior to stepping on the pitch but the senses just sprang into action once we actually started playing! There were several instances that brought up my confidence and I just kept doing my best in every encounter. I figured it’d better for me to make the first move and advance toward the ball rather than just wait for it; even though I’ve got to admit that I have never studied our opponents before (Tajikistan); I’ve never even watched any video of them.
I think we just have to understand each other’s styles a little bit better as we’re usually at different clubs. We addressed this concern in today’s team practice and it will all be figured out long before the next match. My wish is for the Thai national team to qualify for a place in the round of 12 remaining teams. I know that whoever is selected to guard the posts will bring their very best; I have trust in all my teammates."
